Tips for startups looking to expand into Europe

Come up with a concept, build it, succeed at home, and then expand overseas…that’s the idea, right? Simple.

Not exactly. Expanding into any new territory comes with its own set of challenges. To help wade through them, Techworld sat down with Steve Pearce, cofounder of online ticket comparison site TickX to chat about its recent expansion into the continent and offer tips for other startups. (read more about TickX here.)

“Our primary mission is to build the global, go-to destination for discovering experiences, so events, attractions and cinema,” Pearce explained.

“We launched in the UK in September 2015 and since then, we’ve grown rapidly. Last year, over a million people used us to plan a day or night off and as a result of that, we expanded from the UK into Ireland and Spain,” he added.

TickX also plans to launch in the Netherlands, France and German this year. Read on for advice on expanding your own startup.
