I had my wedding two weeks ago, and leading up to it I was worried about all the things that could go wrong. Then when the morning of came, I was somehow reminded of this quote. All of a sudden I was hit with an immense calm.

This may be silly, for someone who always apologizes for thing out of my control it's a nice reminder to own who I am and never apologize for being myself.

I am an extreme over-thinker, and most of my panic attacks happen before going to bed. This quote calms me down. I will find myself just repeating it over and over.

It reminds me to really and truly own my vulnerabilities. I've often lamented about how my emotionality made me weak, but that quote encouraged me to find strength in something that I once wanted to change about myself.

While I know this is an Eleanor Roosevelt quote, I first heard it in this film and it completely changed the way I let people talk to me. In fact, it didn't JUST change the way I let others speak to me, it made me feel strong and capable.

As goofy as it sounds, that whole episode reminded me that sometimes it’s okay to put myself first.

Though it probably seems dark to other people, it's important to remember that sometimes you've just got to let shit go, pick yourself up, and move the fuck on.

It's fairly self-explanatory, but it reminded me to always keep a level head in relationships, and to try to see things exactly how they really are.

Samantha was grateful for all Smith did for her, and that he stuck with her through her cancer, but she was miserable in their life together. I bawled my eyes out and felt so empowered!

The first time I saw this, I'd been battling migraine-like pain for a decade with no diagnosis. Now, I'm in the same predicament, but this quote keeps me from losing it. I literally had it put on a mug two Christmases ago to remind me.

What Clarence writes for George at the end of the film always reminds me that, even at your lowest point in life, you always have friends to help you out and get you back on your feet again. And that is always something worth celebrating.

Most of what Leslie Knope said on the show made me want stand up and cheer, but this runs through my mind whenever someone makes me feel like I'm being too passionate about something. Instead of feeling bad, I just think of this.

I saw this when I was a kid and didn't understand it. Years later, at 19 or so, life was trying to kick my ass. I saw it again and this quote hit me in the heart. The passion in his voice, and the overall meaning of what he was saying changed me.

This quote is so incredibly timely.

I read the book before the movie came out, so it was already moving and meaningful to me, but seeing it on film made it especially real. The car driving through the tunnel, the city lights, everyone laughing, the music cranked up…they perfectly illustrated the feeling of youth and uncertainty and adventure.

Such a small moment in the film, but it really showed me that no matter how rude or degrading someone is, you're stronger then it and don't need to sink to their level.

As someone with depression and anxiety, I honestly think of this quote quite often. I can’t control what happens around me, but I can find ways to control how I handle it, and what I make of it.
